This video describes the comparison between a genuine Nike Air Jordan 1 sneaker and a counterfeit one.

When shopping for real Nike shoes you should expect to pay real Nike prices. If you find a rare Air Jordan or a unique color at a price that is too good to be true… then it IS too good to be true. Low prices and beat up boxes are your first clue that you have a fake, counterfeit, or illegally smuggled-in B-grade Nike shoe.

To spot the fake Air Jordan 1 pair, you will need to closely inspect the text on the tongue tag. If the text is unclear, wavy (slanted) or too thin, then you’re looking at a fake — have a look at our fake vs real visual comparison below. Besides, inspect the Air Jordan logo for any inconsistency such as: overlapping elements, too much space between elements, uneven letters.

When the Air Jordan 1 arrived in '85, it was with rule-breaking bravado. The banned black-red colorway violated the league's uniform policy and resulted in a $5,000 fine from the NBA each time Michael Jordan wore sneakers. Thus the legacy began. Jordan's rookie campaign in 1984-85 finished with His Airness averaging 28.2 points per game to earn All-Star and Rookie of the Year honors.

Stitching is a really crucial part to knowing if your Air Jordan 1 pair is real or fake. You can look and see if the stitching is clean and symmetrical on both shoes, not just one shoe. Real stitching should glow under a blacklight, and when you look at the stitching there should be a clean and consistent gap between each stitch. You want to know your colorways and which stitching color should be there and shouldn’t be there to indicate which is real or fake.


Studying the real Air Jordan and the fake Air Jordan side-by-side, you can see the factory making copies did a nice job on the logo. The artwork on the fake shoe is correct, but the real Jordan 1 logo is still embossed a little deeper into the leather. In this case, it’s hard to tell the difference until you look at the pattern of the cut parts. The real Nike does not have any stitching guides to help the stitchers locate the panels during assembly. The red logo panel of the fake Nike is loaded with these little assembly guides. These assembly guides are not a sign of poor shoemaking and are very common, just not on the real Air Jordan.

Adidas Continental 80 replica versus a genuine shoe comparison.


Adidas Originals is set to drop its archival Continental 80 silhouette as part of its “YUNG Series,” which will also see the YUNG-1 in “Chalk White/Collegiate Navy” release. The silhouette — originally released in the late 1980s — is arguably best known for its similarity to the YEEZY Powerphase sneaker.

The new release will see a one-for-one reproduction of the original sneaker, with a white upper offset by a two-tone running along the upper. The sneaker is constructed from premium leather, with a terry cloth lining and a double cupsole. The latest installment in the “YUNG Series” — including the Continental 80 reissue — is set to release worldwide on June 20.

What really makes the success of the adidas Continental 80 so impressive is the fact that it released around the same time that big, bulky dad-shoe type sneakers were all the rave. Brand’s weren’t really focused on releasing sleek, slim and smooth-looking kicks. The chunky dad shoe trend was in full effect and so was the “bigger is better” mentality. For the adidas Continental 80 to be able to find success during these times just goes to show what kind of an impact the shoe had when it came to placing the focus back on to minimalist sneakers. The adidas Continental 80 is the definition of a trendsetter. When all the sneakers were going right, the Continental 80 opted to go left.

The design of the adidas Continental 80 is the epitome of minimal and versatile footwear. A soft leather upper equipped with details such as the perforated hits on the toebox and side panels. Branding simply consisted of a two-tone stripe going across the side of the shoe underneath a classic Trofoil-branded window right below the lace panels. Inside you will find terry cloth lining while the base of the shoe came equipped with a double cupsole. That’s it. The shoe was so simple and clean that not only sneakerheads were impressed by it, but so was the common man since it was so easy to add to your daily wardrobe.


Capturing the retro tennis court vibes of the 80s, the adidas Continental is now revived and available at 80s Casual Classics in all its former OG glory. The Continental is re-released with all white tumbled leather uppers alongside the iconic two tone stripes of the original late 80s design. Other features include French terry cotton to the inner collar as well as an added EVA insert to the midsole for added comfort. The trainer is offered up in a clean all white colourway and finished off with the all important trefoil branding to the tongue and sides for the ultimate retro sportswear look.
