5. Feel the shoes’ texture and weight

All genuine Timberland boots do not just look good; they also feel good. If you can actually hold the shoes and inspect them before purchasing, do so.



Being made of leather, suede, and high-grade rubber, these boots should feel a little weighty. If it feels light on your hand, it could be an indication of poor materials used.

Most counterfeit manufacturers copy the most popular styles, but several imitators also produce “unique’ styles that they come up with on their own.

Make sure to inspect the style number (normally printed under the tongue or along the inner lining), and check online if it matches the shoes. Familiarity with the shoe/boot styles will also help easily determine fake Timberlands.



7. Check if the store is an authorized retailer.

The official Timberland website has a “store locator” tool that allows you to search for authorized Timberland retailers in your area. If you’re buying shoes from a brick-and-mortar retailer, this is an easy way to check if you’re getting the real deal or not.



When shopping online, it’s best to stick to established retailers, such as Amazon, Nordstrom, Zappos, and, of course, the official Timberland website.

Adidas Continental 80 replica versus a genuine shoe comparison.


Adidas Originals is set to drop its archival Continental 80 silhouette as part of its “YUNG Series,” which will also see the YUNG-1 in “Chalk White/Collegiate Navy” release. The silhouette — originally released in the late 1980s — is arguably best known for its similarity to the YEEZY Powerphase sneaker.

The new release will see a one-for-one reproduction of the original sneaker, with a white upper offset by a two-tone running along the upper. The sneaker is constructed from premium leather, with a terry cloth lining and a double cupsole. The latest installment in the “YUNG Series” — including the Continental 80 reissue — is set to release worldwide on June 20.

What really makes the success of the adidas Continental 80 so impressive is the fact that it released around the same time that big, bulky dad-shoe type sneakers were all the rave. Brand’s weren’t really focused on releasing sleek, slim and smooth-looking kicks. The chunky dad shoe trend was in full effect and so was the “bigger is better” mentality. For the adidas Continental 80 to be able to find success during these times just goes to show what kind of an impact the shoe had when it came to placing the focus back on to minimalist sneakers. The adidas Continental 80 is the definition of a trendsetter. When all the sneakers were going right, the Continental 80 opted to go left.

The design of the adidas Continental 80 is the epitome of minimal and versatile footwear. A soft leather upper equipped with details such as the perforated hits on the toebox and side panels. Branding simply consisted of a two-tone stripe going across the side of the shoe underneath a classic Trofoil-branded window right below the lace panels. Inside you will find terry cloth lining while the base of the shoe came equipped with a double cupsole. That’s it. The shoe was so simple and clean that not only sneakerheads were impressed by it, but so was the common man since it was so easy to add to your daily wardrobe.


Capturing the retro tennis court vibes of the 80s, the adidas Continental is now revived and available at 80s Casual Classics in all its former OG glory. The Continental is re-released with all white tumbled leather uppers alongside the iconic two tone stripes of the original late 80s design. Other features include French terry cotton to the inner collar as well as an added EVA insert to the midsole for added comfort. The trainer is offered up in a clean all white colourway and finished off with the all important trefoil branding to the tongue and sides for the ultimate retro sportswear look.

All bike chains wear with time. To keep your components in good shape, you’ll need to replace your chain periodically. In this video, we show you how to remove your old chain, insert a new chain, size the chain and connect the new chain. Shop REI’s selection of bike chains at http://www.rei.com/c/bike-chains.

Of all the components on your bike, the chain needs to be replaced most often. To keep a stretched chained from wearing down your other components, you'll have to replace it periodically.

When you're buying a new chain, make sure it matches the speed of your cassette. For example: a ten speed chain will only work with a ten speed cassette. All you'll need is a chain tool, but a pair of master link pliers may come in handy.

If your rear derailleur has a clutch, turn it off. Then shift the chain to the smallest chain ring and the smallest cog. If you have a shimano chain, use a chain breaking tool to push a pin part way out of the lower section of chain until you can separate the links. You'll know it's a Shimano chain if it says HG somewhere on the links. For SRAM chains, find the master link and push the two plates together to unlock it. You can do this by hand, or with the pair of master link pliers. Before you remove the chain, note how it passes through the rear derailleur. It may be helpful to take a picture to remind yourself later. Now you can remove the chain and set it aside.

If you have a Shimano chain and there's only lettering on one side, make sure it's facing out, away from the bike. Thread the new chain through the front derailleur and onto the smallest chain ring. Spin the pedal slightly to make sure there are a few inches of chain handing below the crank set. Thread the other side of the chain through the rear derailleur. This can be a tricky process, so take your time to get it right.

Start by making sure that both derailleurs are shifted to the smallest chain ring and smallest cog. Bring the two ends together to form a straight line between the chain rings and the derailleur. With not tension on the chain, the tensioning arm will fold up against the cassette. Pull slack out of the left side of the chain until there's a gap between the arm and the cassette. You want to create the smallest gap possible that still lets you connect links. It's important to note that to connect a sShimano chain, you need to wide outer plate and a thin inner plate. SRAM chains need two inner plates. Once you have the arm in the right spot, note where the chain overlaps. This is where you'll need to break it. Now you can break the chain and set the extra links aside.

To connect a Shimano chain, bring the two ends together. You can use a piece of stuff wire to hold it as you work. Insert a pin and push into place with your chain tool. Once it's through, break off the end of the pin with a pair of pliers or a chain tool. Then wiggle the links to make sure they're not too stiff and they rotate smoothly around the new pin. For SRAM chains, place one half of the master link onto each end of the chain. Bring the links together, slot the pins through the holes in the link, and pull it tight. You want to make sure the plates are fully seated, so hold the rear brake to lock the wheel, and push down on the pedal. You should see the plates pop into place. Again, wiggle the new link to make sure it rotates smoothly. If your derailleur has a clutch, make sure to reengage it. Finish by spinning the pedals and making sure the gears shift normally. Test every gear combination and make sure the chain is long enough to be on the biggest cog and the biggest chain ring at the same time.

To recap:
Break the chain and take it off the bike.
Thread the new chain through the derailleurs.
Use the tensioning arm to help you size the chain.
Connect the two ends and make sure you can shift through every gear.

In this video, the Snowys filming crew visited the Brownhill Creek Tourist Park to show you how to set up and pack away the Coleman Instant Up 6P Lighted Northstar Darkroom Tent. Ben starts with what you get with the tent, orienting it the right way, pegging out the corners, popping the hub up, then throws the fly over, and pegs it out. After that, Ben grabs the poles needed to set up the vestibule and awning and shows you how to do it.

He then starts the pack down process by collapsing the vestibule, removing the fly, lowering the poles and inverting the knuckles to collapse the frame. After that, Ben takes the pegs out of the ground, flattens and folds the fabric, rolls the tent up and pops it back into the bag for storage – so check it out above for all the deets.
